Volunteers save lives
Second Chance wouldn’t be able to function without the help of our many volunteers.
At our cat adoption center at PetSmart in Levittown, caring volunteers visit our cats twice a day to clean, feed, and give the kitties TLC.
Additionally on Saturdays, our dog volunteers gather for Meet and Greets at PetSmart in Levittown. There, the dogs are taught to interact and socialize with people in addition to meeting new potential families.
Second Chance is always looking for loving and reliable people to care for our cats or dogs. If you’d like to volunteer at our adoption center, we ask that you complete three training sessions and commit to at least one month of volunteering (a training session lasts approx. 1 ½ hours).
Volunteers need to be a minimum of 17 years of age to work on their own, but we do allow children (12 years and older) to work with the cats or dogs as long as they are accompanied by a guardian.
Second Chance volunteers are very special people who tell us they get plenty of “pay” for their work in the form of the happy purrs and loving licks from our pets.
